Nikhil formally joined BJP in 2015 and started working for the party. It was in 2016, the then Bihar BJP President Shri Nityanand Rai opted him to co-ordinate his media affairs and later on he was made the Spokesperson of Bihar BJP. In a short span of time he outshown among all his fellow Spokespersons as well as those belonging to other parties. In 2019, Dr. Sanjay Jaisawal became the President of Bihar BJP and inducted Nikhil Anand in the same capacity as a spokesperson for second consecutive terms. Nikhil Anand's hard work started paying for himself as well as attracted the attention of some top BJP leaders in the state. When the BJP denied ticket to Srikanth Nirala from the Maner Assembly Constituency for his anti- party activities, Sanjay Jaisawal reposed faith on Nikhil Anand to contest the Assembly election from Maner in 2020. Though he lost the election but succeeded in getting around 62,000 votes against all odds in only 20 days from this RJD bastion. On denial of ticket from Maner, the 4time MLA Srikanth Nirala bitterly opposed him to the tooth and nail to get 15,000 votes as well as 3- 4 other candidates also revolted from the party to contest and altogether got around 15,000 votes. In these toughest situation, Nikhil survived as a leader in Maner saving the prestige of the Bharatiya Janata party from the constituency besides stiff opposition. But in order to his struggle, Nikhil again attracted the attention of top BJP leaders and was made National General Secretary of BJP OBC Morcha besides being the spokesperson of Bihar BJP. Now a days, Nikhil Anand is working to promote BJP among the OBC constituent under the leadership of National President & Rajyasabha MP Dr. K. Laxman ji. Besides, the organisational work responsibility, he is the incharge of BJP OBC Morcha in Delhi and Rajasthan.
Nikhil Anand's father Late Anand Mohan was a Government High School Principal who taught at NMY High School of JiwarakhanTola Tola in Maner, Town High School at Ara and HD Rai High School at Bihiya Chaurasta in Bihiya. He died in a road accident while in service in 2004 at the age of 58. Nikhil's mother Dr. (Prof.) Ram Kumari Devi was a college professor who taught at Marwari College, Kishanganj & MJM Mahila College, Katihar under BN Mandal University, Madhepura and retired from GJ college Rambagh, Bihta, Patna under Magadh University, BodhGaya in 2017. Interestingly, his grandfather Late ShriBhagwan Singh was a known Freedom Fighter and a Politician who became an MLA from Maner Assembly Constituency in 1957-1962. Shri Bhagwan Babu was well known or closed to almost all the contemporary politicians of his era like Anugrah Narayan Singh, Satyendra Narayan Singh, Prof. PN Sharma, Chandra Dev Prasad Verma, Ramawtar Shastri, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, Dr. Jagannath Mishra, BP Mandal, Sitaram Kesari, Baliram Bhagat and other. ShriBhagwan Singh was born on 7th November 1917 and died a natural death on 20th October 2005.
Nikhil's primary education took place in the local village school for 6 years and later on, he took admission in Loyola High School, a prestigious premier institution situated in Kurji area of Patna, to complete his school education. His further studies took place in Dayal Singh College under Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University at New Delhi, Indian Institute of Mass Communication at New Delhi and many other institutions in the different parts of country. He holds an MPhil & PhD degree and keenly desires to complete Post- Doctorate in the future. Though, Nikhil Anand had been a journalist and now a days, a full time politician but he is an Avid reader, good writer and also interested in Academics.
